Our Company

We are a small business, consisting of two friends.

GEMBS was started by five sisters ("The Aunts") from a labour of love in 2007. Three of their children decided on marriage and expressed a wish for seat covers to complete their venue for their special day.  Like most loving Parents, their wish was the aunts command - well almost! After numerous quotes and searching, eventually decisions were made and samples purchased. So that was that? Not quite.... Eight weeks prior to the first wedding they trialed the seat covers only to find they did not fit all the chairs. What were they to do? - they daren't tell the Bride as she was already overstressed and emotional, they knew she was counting on these covers to tie her colour scheme together.........they had to work fast.  Fortunately, they were able to pool their resources and expertise together.  With two as trained tailoresses they made the decision to make their own. Two hundred seat covers with sashes were needed and so began the labour of love.

Following excellent feedback from the Venue Manager and immediate enquiries from guests about hiring the seat covers, a decision was made to offer their services and products to others.

Three successful years later and with demand growing "The Aunts" decided to hand GEMBS over to the more youthful generation of the family - US! Although they are sad to be saying goodbye, they know it hasn't gone far and they are very excited for us and are confident we will continue to provide the infamous service they have built on for the last three years. Being lucky enough to watch them over the years with GEMBS we believe their success was not only due to them all being wonderfully welcoming and helpful but to their decision to treat GEMBS as an opportunity to help in anyway they can, therefore creating the ultimate service from beginning, middle to end! We are excited and are looking forward to using our knowledge and upbringing to continue this service.
